“Life Of Indebtedness”

“Paid in full.” (Col 2:13-14) I owed a big debt to my visa in my twenties. My Dad came to the rescue and paid it in full. I had been irresponsible, but he extended grace. Indebtedness is defined as owing gratitude for undeserved favor. Tracing the life of Paul it’s so obvious that his zealousness came from his place of indebtedness. The loving pursuit of Christ Jesus into his life of rebellion set a fire in his soul that wouldn’t quit. “Don’t Shuffle Along”

“Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you.” ‭‭(Col‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭2‬) What a picture of our posture these days. Heads down, buried in phones. I’ve seen people trip over curbs, ignoring what’s right in front of them. We were not created to shuffle along, but to run and not grow weary. In a world of deceit that will try to derail us with endless offers of empty promises, we must flee to take hold of Him Who never changes, for it is absolutely impossible for God to lie. “Beloved, Don’t Give Up”

“Don’t give up meeting together.” God’s design is for in the flesh connection, for the purpose of pressing on. (Heb 10:25) Alone, we might forget what’s true. We might sink into hopelessness. It resets the soul when a friend looks you in the eye and reminds of your value in Christ and His compassions that never fail. His power is made perfect in our weakness and made alive and stronger in togetherness. We need each other. Reminding each other helps us remind ourselves. Dear Ones, don’t give up. “It’s Not Too Late”

“I am the Resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will never die.” (John 11:25) My heart broke when I heard of a dear friend diagnosed with cancer. I wept. I thought, what should I say to bring her comfort? I then remembered how “Jesus wept,” with His friends. What a raw picture. (John 11:35) Lazarus had died. His friends, undone with sadness and questions. Jesus, where have you been? Why weren’t you here sooner? It’s easy to think that the Lord has run far off when we face hard things, but this passage proves He’s near to the broken-hearted. He’s in touch with our pain and our fears. His tears speak.
