“Alleluia Bookends”

“Do not wallow in the midst of suffering and trial.”

Do you wake up with Alleluias on your lips? As the day goes by, do they diminish or stay strong?

Bookends flank a long stretch of books, serving to keep them standing upright. Alleluias serve us the same.

Hard things in our days can tempt us to abandon our Alleluias, yet, in the Lord‘s great love, He clearly warns against it. “Do not wallow.”

To wallow is to be self-absorbed, worried, and wringing our hands.

This warning came to me in the middle of riveting pain and sorrow. It stands firm for all His beloved.

Many are the mysteries of our days and the hard places that we visit. Not one chapter is the Lord sitting on His hands. Not for a moment does He abandon His work.

His hand is trustworthy. His reasons are holy.

He’s working something greater in the hard places. He’s offering us the chance to experience the depths of His love in ways we otherwise would’ve missed. He readies us, here in the heartaches, to go deeper, and find Him faithful and true.

Where do you find yourself? Will we trust His holy touch, His higher ways?

Claim this declaration with me, out loud, with all your heart and without delay.

I praise You Jesus, that in the end, everything is going to be all right. Alleluia. I praise You, that in the middle, You are revealing Your perfect love and strength. Every day, I can trust You. Every moment, You are for me. (Psalm 145:1-2) paraphrase Amen.

How many Alleluias can you release today? Don’t knock it til you try it! XO
Set your bookends firm, and in the middle of it all, stay strong.

One day the hard places will cease and we will sing Alleluias without end. Trust the process this side of heaven. Trust in Jesus.
