“Alleluia Bookends”

“Do not wallow in the midst of suffering and trial.” Do you wake up with Alleluias on your lips? As the day goes by, do they diminish or stay strong? Bookends flank a long stretch of books, serving to keep them standing upright. Alleluias serve us the same. Hard things in our days can tempt us to abandon our Alleluias, yet, in the Lord‘s great love, He clearly warns against it. “Do not wallow.” To wallow is to be self-absorbed, worried, and wringing our hands. “First Love, Fall Afresh”

“You’ve left your First Love, lost the passion you once had for Me. You aren’t cold or hot, but lukewarm, stagnant.” (Rev 2:4, 3‬:‭15‬) First precedes all others in time, order and importance, holding the highest most prominent place. Jesus charges us to keep our love for Him first, and fire hot. It’s His tender way of keeping us steadfast in our faith, holy protected and persevering. We all remember our “first love.” We wanted every waking second with them. The first on our mind in the morning and the last at night. The hours in between, inseparable. “Emboldened In Oppostion”

“The Lord stood at my side and gave me strength.” (2 Timothy 4:17) I love this vision, at the ready, to embolden us. Taking a closer look, the full details read….The Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, as I fought the good fight and finished my race. It’s Timothy, running shoes laced up, on the move to spread the Good News, despite opposition. Everyone had left him, but not the Lord. The Lord tells us, “Don’t grow weary in doing good. “Weep & Launch”

“They may weep as they “go out” carrying seed to sow, but they’ll return with joyful laughter, armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!” (Psalm ‭126‬:‭6‬) This passage is striking. Weeping seems to be the launchpad that moves them to “go out.” I’m reminded of Jesus’ call to go scatter seed. (Matt 28:18-20) In His great mercy He’s given us living hope that can never wither, an inheritance reserved in heaven that can never perish. (1 Pet 1:3) As the seeds of “His imperishable living hope” are sown into our souls, do we weep that others are without? I weep. We should weep. We should launch.
