“Alleluia Bookends”
“Do not wallow in the midst of suffering and trial.” Do you wake up with Alleluias on your lips? As the day goes by, do they diminish or stay strong? Bookends flank a long stretch of books, serving to keep them standing upright. Alleluias serve us the same. Hard things in our days can tempt us to abandon our Alleluias, yet, in the Lord‘s great love, He clearly warns against it. “Do not wallow.” To wallow is to be self-absorbed, worried, and wringing our hands.
