“I’m Beside Myself”

Posted on

When we use these words, we are expressing that we’re super upset. There’s something stirring under the surface that is causing very strong feelings. Oh, it’s so easy to be wound up these days in a world that is shaking hard.

In a holy mix of emotions, I voiced these actual words into the air as a cry for help.

As I did, I saw an image of myself literally standing beside myself.

The closer I looked, the calmer my soul became, for I was reminded I am never alone.

Are you beside yourself? You are not alone either!

“I will not be shaken, for the Lord is right BESIDE ME. He is always with me. (Psalm 16:8)

Step aside. Assess the stirrings with Jesus.

Know that He is on the scene, peering into all situations. He longs to align our hearts to what is true and unchanging, that we will see the full truth, the whole picture.

Lord, You are at our side, in our corner and on the throne. You are our firm foundation.

Jesus will never fail to bring us consolation as we continually look to Him and entrust ourselves to Him.
All other ground is sinking sand.

Keep a close eye on Him.

I pray this will be an alleluia interruption for your soul.
Jesus won’t fail you or me. He can’t.
His name is victory.
Let your soul sing. Christ is our Firm Foundation By: Anthem Worship

Whenever I’m beside myself & my busy thoughts are out of control, I seek You, Lord. The soothing comfort of Your presence comes to calm me down, it overwhelms me with deep delight, reestablishes my peace & my footing, & I can’t help but sing for joy. (Psalms‬ ‭94‬:‭19‬) paraphrase
