“I Will” Inscriptions”

Posted on

I have a small rock on my desk with the inscription, honest pilgrim. It reminds me to stay bare before the Lord and to remember I’m not home yet.

If you flip the rock over, in bold it says “Yahweh.”

Yahweh is the name that spotlights God’s redeeming acts throughout history.

To redeem speaks to making good on a promise, improving a situation, exchanging it for something of greater value. Yahweh, the God of great exchange.

We can exchange darkness for light, worry for peace, weary for living hope, regret for lavish mercy. And the list goes on. The exchange opportunities are endless and deep. Everlasting and true.

Remaining an honest pilgrim is key. This includes questions and complaints. The Lord knows it’s hard here. He loves a transparent heart. His understanding has no limits.

We are pilgrims in need of help every step. The terrain is unfamiliar. Yahweh has razor sharp focus. He is unstoppable, ever-true, ever-present. He’s with us all the way.

The I wills of Yahweh are countless. His I wills are not maybes, they are absolutes.

Write these I Will inscriptions on your heart…..

“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” (Isaiah‬ ‭42‬:‭16‬)

If you start to feel “not at home” here, remember, He knows the way home. He’s got you. He sees you. Jesus has cleared the way. He seals every I Will with Yes and Amen.

All He’s promised will come to pass.
