The chaos of the world was silenced and the only thing I could hear was the wind and the birds. As I glanced up and saw the trees stretching to the heavens and arching over the pathway where I walked, the moment seemed to say, “Look up.” The shade that covered me reiterated, “Hide in the shadow of My wings.” (Psalm 17:8) As I made my way further, the path offered many ways to go. As I took a right hand turn, I thought I heard the whisper, “This is the way walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21) I couldn’t help but sense the overriding theme that accompanied me, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15) My heart began to enter into the peace that I had been despreately craving and I took a deep breath.
WHERE ARE YOU THESE DAYS?
Are you longing for peace? Has this fast-paced world and chaos that hovers brought you down?
Quiet time with the Lord gives an opportunity for Him to hush our hearts.
This is the way, walk in it. Close the door on all the hurry and distractions. Step outside. Look up.
Oh Lord, Your promises never fail and have no expiration date. The noise of this world is so loud. Stir us to intentionally seek quiet retreats. Still our souls in the hush and increase our trust in You.
Praise You. Living Hope, True Love, Savior and Coming King. Amen & Alleluia.
