“Call 9-1-1”

Posted on

Call on the One whose record of reliance is irrefutable & whose power raises the dead.

911. This date will forever bring the memory of a most horrific event that pierced the United States. I still remember where I stood as I watched the towers fall and the heap of rubble form within seconds.

Do you remember where you were?

“What’s wrong mommy?” my son said as he watched me cry.

“Honey some sad things are happening and many are hurting in our world.” He wondered what it all meant as much as we all might have wondered why and how could this happen.

I don’t have the answers, but I know Who does, and I’m struck by this date – 911.

What’s your first thought? Don’t we call this number when we have an emergency?

Before the fall of the towers, we may have felt safe here, since then we’ve maybe questioned it a bit. Most recently, maybe we question it even more, with change on the rise at the speed of light.

Who is on our side? Who has the answers?

There’s only one safe refuge that will never crumble.

Is the increase of calamity a call to make the call? I believe it is. Have you made the call?

Call on the One.

Jesus, You are the One. Stir in us a deep craving to come, a strong confidence to stay, with a holy reliance and utmost devotion to dwell. You hold all the answers. Amen & Alleluia.

“I will dwell in the secret place of the Most High Who sits enthroned. (Psalm “91:1”)
(I will trust in the One who will never fail me, the One who holds the keys to eternal life.)
