“Directions To Jerusalem”

Navigating this life, I often wonder which way to turn, you too? Somehow my phone pulled up this buried reflection I wrote a long while ago. It couldn’t be more timely, maybe you need it, too. Honest cries, extravagant answers. For a daunting world globally, a personal exchange behind closed doors.

Nothing looked familiar,
I felt lost trying to get to where I was going.

Do I have the right directions, Lord?

He whispered to my soul,
“You haven’t gone this way yet, but I can see up ahead.”

Lord, it’s so unfamiliar & scary really.
But then, it’s exhilarating all at the same time.

I’d prefer Mapquest, but You are far more reliable, the path is known by You.
You knew clearly your Father’s will & You can make Yours for me clear, clearly directing my steps.
If you hold my hand every step of the way, I’ll make it.

Only Your inherent power will make it possible & a reality.

To reach the New Jerusalem, I think that’s where we’re headed.

We’re headed toward the “New” Jerusalem. History is in God’s hands, so are we.

The cross and the resurrection pushed history’s script forward. Since then, we’ve been in “the last days,” headed toward “His Kingdom come.” Hold onto the promise that He is with us “til the end of the age.” (Matt 28:20) His blood has redeemed us that we will enter in. (Col 1:14)

Where does life find you?

Jesus is the way and knows the way.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
(Psalm 32:8)

“I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a loud voice from the throne, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He’ll dwell with them, and they’ll be His people, God himself will be with them as their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes, death will be eliminated, no more mourning, crying, or pain, for the former things have passed away.”(Rev‬ ‭21‬:‭2‬-‭4‬)
