Got Milk?

Posted on

“Crave spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you’ve tasted and seen that the Lord is good.” (1 Peter 2:2)

I can’t help but think of a baby latched onto its mother, swaddled in her arms, completely content, nourished and satisfied. The baby, helpless to be fed without her. I can’t help but hear the call for us to do the same. To taste, to grow, to crave the Voice of Truth—all with a posture of dependence.

Have you tasted and seen that the Lord is good? Or maybe you’re on empty and this world has left you hungry?

The good Lord has every word to nourish our souls. I find it takes drawing closer to Him and moving farther away from the world. We then make ourselves ready for milk, and for solid food.

We’re invited to consider our diet in 1 Corinthians 3:1, “You are still worldly, mere infants.” The Lord starts us on milk like infants and then desires to move us onto solid, deeper truths, to grow us up in our salvation; all with a posture of complete dependence that leads to contentment.

GOT JESUS? If we got Jesus, milk and bread, we will make it!

Jesus says, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John‬ ‭6‬:‭35‬)

What’s your story? The journey is long. This world disappoints. Move closer to Jesus. Latch on. His is the Voice of Truth. He never disappoints. If we got Jesus, we got all we’ll ever need. Ben Fuller says it best. I can relate to his story, can you? Feast on this song. If I got Jesus
