“Come to Me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life.” (Isaiah 55:3)
We live in a world of “Huh?” Moving at top record speed, we multitask and often don’t really listen to each other. What about the “Huh?” we might repeatedly utter to the Lord? Maybe we don’t outright say it, but we outright live it. He might tell us to do something over and over and we resist, don’t hear, or refuse to listen. Maybe it’s an apology or a calling to do something that sounds outrageous? Or to come to Him despite our apprehensions? To lay down our understanding and pick up His. Could it be that His outrageous love persists through our every “Huh?” until He has HIS way?
I can be hard of hearing, so stubborn. Yet, I’ve found that He doesn’t mind repeating Himself. A woman of influence in my life says,“What we resist, persists.” ~ Alisa Keeton
When we resist, the Spirit of Love and Truth persists.
The Voice of Love persists for our good. Get quiet. What do you hear? He never gives up on us. Do you hear Him calling you? Don’t resist it. The abundant life is promised and comes alive as we listen to the Lord and respond. Ask Him to speak up. Ears wide open. Give into His Voice, wherever life finds you.
The Lord’s persistence is always marked by peace and freedom. Outrageous love wants to trump our lives!
Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life to the full.” (John 10:10) If we resist His voice, we will miss out in this life and the life to come!
Thank you, Lord, for your persistence in our resistance and Your love that never fails.
Amen & Alleluia.
