Don’t we all want a word from the Lord? He gives them. I like to say, “He writes them in sharpie,” but it’s better said that they’re sealed by His blood in permanence and can never be washed away. Welcome to my favorite picture of all time!
Take a long look. It was in the middle of nowhere, in the mountains of North Carolina, that the Lord spoke these “words.” These arms represent a diverse crew that came together for a weekend retreat with purpose: To seek the Lord. To Get Free so we could Live Free. As the Lord did a huge work on the inside, we outwardly proclaimed it by inscribing His “word” for us on the outside. Guess which arm is mine? “Covered.” I wasn’t trusting that the Lord had me covered in a certain area of life. Boy, He proved me wrong! Can you relate?
Really study the words displayed here. All these words belong to us. Which one do you need? It might be a different word? Reach out to the One who loves you. Believe in who He says you are. See yourself marked up and covered up. It brings the Lord great pleasure to confirm to us that we are free and lavished with His infinite love so that we can live in our true identity.
Welcome to the circle of trust. Sing Alleluia to the Lord who delivers us into more and more life as we open our hands and hearts to Him.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3-8)
