“They may weep as they “go out” carrying seed to sow, but they’ll return with joyful laughter, armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!” (Psalm 126:6)
This passage is striking. Weeping seems to be the launchpad that moves them to “go out.”
I’m reminded of Jesus’ call to go scatter seed. (Matt 28:18-20) In His great mercy He’s given us living hope that can never wither, an inheritance reserved in heaven that can never perish. (1 Pet 1:3)
As the seeds of “His imperishable living hope” are sown into our souls, do we weep that others are without? I weep.
We should weep. We should launch. I love that, as we do, it yields armloads of blessing and a harvest of deep joy.
Is it because we’re then truly living in the purpose for which we were made? What’s the Lord saying to you?
May we be weighted down with an immense urging; weep and launch.
The call is a privilege. Jesus is worthy. The time is now.
Lord, may we sow Your living Word soul deep, weep for the lost and go where You send us, for Your namesake. Amen & Alleluia.
“God’s Word never returns void.” (Isa 55:11)
Hope in Jesus never ends.
