“Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you.”
(Col 3:1-2)
What a picture of our posture these days. Heads down, buried in phones. I’ve seen people trip over curbs, ignoring what’s right in front of them.
We were not created to shuffle along, but to run and not grow weary.
In a world of deceit that will try to derail us with endless offers of empty promises, we must flee to take hold of Him Who never changes, for it is absolutely impossible for God to lie. (Heb 6:18-20)
He tells us the absolute truth, instilling strong encouragement and indwelling strength, so that, we won’t trip or break down under whatever pressures may come—
His loving eye is on us. His invitation is sound.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” (Psalm 32:8)
He invites us onto paths of peace and places us above the fray as we flee to Him, to His perfect Word.
Are you breaking down? Shuffling? Tripping over curbs?
Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.
Let His loving heart inform us and His truth abound in us.
Will you flee with me to the real action? To the real answers?
Thank you, Lord, for Your loving eye and priceless presence. You see all that’s going on. You will lead us in Your tender care as we flee to take hold of You.
Your pure honest counsel soothes our souls, resets our perspectives, heals our shuffling and leads us on, come what may. Amen & Alleluia.
