We forget that we’re described as pilgrims. Pilgrims are journeying towards home, they’ve not gotten there just yet.
I get so sad when I hear of people giving up on God because darkness invaded, political turmoil rose, personal trials came. Yes, we get down and out in our humanity, I don’t like trials either…but the Lord wants us to cling to the “whole picture.” He didn’t leave out any details in His word. He gives description on all these things, that they’d all be part of it.
Building our lives on His kingdom “will” come is a better lens. Remembering it’s not here YET.
Before Jesus left He encouraged His disciples and spotlighted these truths. He didn’t say, “Hey, it’s gonna be easy.” He conferred, “You are not of this world, it’s gonna be hard.” (John 17:16)
Before He left He promised His presence would come as an extension of His extravagance for courage and strength as we travel this pilgrim road; to be with us until the end of the age.
It’s a privilege to walk with the Voice of Truth and the good Lord wants to trump our lives with more volume. Are you craving it? Can you hear Him saying, “keep stepping forward”? Do you hear His roar? His voice resounds above all things to keep trusting Him for His glorious outcome!!!
Hold on pilgrim. We are learning to love and trust Him on this side, witnessing His faithfulness. His kingdom reigns “in us” now as we traverse the twists and turns and “will come in all its fullness.” His presence will never leave us as we wait for the day. He sings over us. He keeps His promises. The best is yet to come.
“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.” (Revelation 19:6)
“They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

Thank you for the reminder to trust Him, on this side.
XOXO onward Pilgrim.
