I can be guilty of “stacking chairs on the titanic.” Can you picture it? You’re on a sinking ship and you’re busy stacking chairs. Absurd thought, but it can be such a reality in my life. Yours, too? Picture us in a panic, all the ways we respond. (Wow, I could sit on that awhile.)
The titanic stood strong and looked unbreakable. It seemed unimaginable that it could ever go down, impossible that it would ever sink. But, it did.
If we think we stand firm on anything else but Jesus, we are deceived. We’re going to sink. There’s only One sure way of rescue.
How are you these days? Do you sense the strong shifts in our world? Are you frantically stacking chairs?
Passengers ran frantically around the sinking ship. We don’t need to panic. We need to claim our raft of refuge. In Christ Jesus, we can rest assured that we will make it to shore. Let’s not sink into fear and start stacking chairs, but be held.
The tides are changing in our world. Jesus is our deliverance, today and forever.
Let all the chaos in our world set us on mission to know Jesus more and stay anchored to Him, our only rescue. He’s got us!
Lord, You see us. You know our heart place. You love us deeply and whisper, everything is going to be alright, stick close to Me. May we cling to You and trust in You more and more. Amen & Alleluia.
Sit on this awhile longer. Listen to these words of promise in this song. Hear the Father singing over you.
Into The Sea By: Tasha Layton
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become our high priest forever.
Our sure anchor, steadfast and unchangeable, sealed with an oath by God who never lies. (Hebrews 6:17-21)
