“Dead End Hope”

On a long walk on an unfamiliar street, a dead end brought me hope.

My first steps held questions and struggle, searching and longing. Yet, as I went along, my soul began to breathe.

Was it the incoming text from a friend reminding me of God’s unchanging love? Or was it the song I had just sung out loud that cut the air and dismantled the lies?

One thing I’m certain of, this view took my breath away, this truth trumped the moment and remains, and it’s not just extended to me.

I saw the sign, “dead end.” Yet, when I came around the corner and got there, I found an unexpected view waiting.

It wasn’t a dead end after all! It was a body of water with lush green trees at its borders and birds were singing in full chorus.

Though I was still in a very unfamiliar place in life, and though my circumstances hadn’t changed, my heart eyes opened and my soul welled up with joy and hope.

Are you up against a hard place? Are you rattled over our world? Feel like it’s a dead end?

This is the right perspective, for you and for me. For with Jesus, there are no dead ends.

Life has become unfamiliar to us.

Listen to the birds singing. Let their songs touch your heart. Trust in His providence. How much more does He care for us? (Matthew 6:26) He will never fail us. He’s able to do, exceedingly and abundantly, more than we could ever ask or imagine, and often times it’s experienced in the most unexpected places.

Jesus wants to usher us into living hope and dunk us in living water, revealing His resurrection power in places that look hopeless.

What do you need? Maybe it’s a hug. Oh I’d embrace you right now if I could. Instead, I pray for Jesus to hold you where you are. That He will open up what seems a dead end as an access to His heart of unfailing love. He is proven and able. Amen & Alleluia.

“Trust confidently in the Lord. His banner over you is love that endures forever.” (Song of Songs 2:4)

Hope in Jesus never fades away, living water flows freely to wash over every heartache and lead us on, all the way!
Faith has a finish. Together we will press on.
