“The Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your old self-life from dominating you!” (Galatians 5:17)
We crave sugar. We crave chips. I love them. But what I love most is freedom in my thinking. When negative distractions cease and the Voice of Truth and Love reigns. Do you long for it too? Do you hear Him? He’s the Good Shepherd. His sheep hear His voice. Are we? (John 10:27-28)
“The Holy Spirit, Our Victory.” After Jesus rose victorious, He spent time in the presence of many. Upon telling His disciples that He’d depart, ascend, they were saddened. He assured them it would be better this way. He’d then come in the power of the Holy Spirit to take up residency in all who would place their trust in Him. (John 14:16-17) He’d then shepherd “each sheep” every step of the way. It’s His “voice” that shepherds. It’s an intense journey here. Isn’t it? Is the “good fight fought” in our minds? Isn’t this where we hear? Is this the “residency” where He desires to reign? Could it be that victory in our minds yields the promised abundant life we are offered?
The volume of The Good Shepherd’s voice is our victory.
“There are two incompatible and conflicting forces within us.” (Gal 5:17) One is the self-life, the flesh. The other is the new life in Christ. Are we dominated by the Voice of Truth, craving His every promise in full force? “Let me be clear, it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. We must always cherish this truth and stubbornly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.” (Gal 5:1)
Intense cravings for the new life must dominate in full force.

What thoughts leave you bound? Hold you captive? Do you know the Good Shepherd? He knows you and loves you. Ask Him with me, to capture and keep you. Claim victory by His Spirit of power and His Word of promise. He loves us with such intensity! Too much for us to be trapped by wrong thinking.
Lord, may You reign in us from sun up to sun down; completely, not partially. We crave it. You do, too. Amen & Alleluia.
