Immense Mercy

Posted on

The mercy of God extended to us through Christ Jesus is nothing less than immense.

Mercy is meant to invade our souls, washing away our worst, instilling joy unspeakable. Yet, our thought life can leave us hesitant, it can keep us from coming “to the table” of mercy, from “staying” at the table of forgiveness, hope and acceptance. My life journey reflects a coming and going, a straying and returning. As I traced the chapters of my life, pursued by immense mercy, a heart tug took over to share my experience of God’s relentless love and grace.

I’ve fallen for empty pursuits that have led to dead ends. I’ve made choices
I’d never make again. I’ve found that this world can’t satisfy the deeper
longings of the soul. I’ve found that I can’t make my regrets and my
struggles “all better” and I definitely don’t “know better”, but there is
Someone who does. He knows best how to meet us in all the chapters of
our lives and in the chapters of these bound demonstrations.

Immense mercy is in our midst. I pray these pages will bring afresh the perfect love of God that chases me and you all of our days, and leads us onward. Pass it on, til every seat is taken!

“It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, He embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on His own, with no help from us! Then He picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.” (at the table of hope, forgiveness and acceptance)
