Liar Liar, Pants On Fire

Mind the mind of Christ. The territory where the battle lives.

Paul explains in Romans 7 that he “serves God with His mind.” In fact, through faith in Christ, we are given the “mind of Christ.” Think about that. It’s no wonder the enemy shows up here to tear us down and take our freedom, to play tricks. “He’s been a liar since the beginning.” He’s in opposition with Jesus. His schemes are devious, his intent is no good and the battle is so real. All in the mind. We must be on guard and mind our minds.

I’m empowered thinking on the fact that, in Christ, we have what it takes. We have the mind of Christ. We have His spirit. This battle we face is victorious. It is armed with Jesus on the front lines. Jesus at the very center, at every turn, in every corner. He is there. With His mind and in His power, we can be delivered and our minds be held captive only to the truth. We can be set free!

So how will we “take our thoughts captive” to the truth? We will choose. We have a choice. First we must choose to see that this is flat out war. Next we choose to refute the lies. We have a choice, we have the Truth and we have the Victorious One on our side.

Today, choose to say, “I have the mind of Christ.” Picture Jesus, standing in the middle with a sword, fighting every thought that doesn’t belong. Call out to Him for help.

The Voice of Truth is armed with love. Trust His every word. He never lies. He holds us fast.

“Liar, liar, pants on fire” must be put in his place. “He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8‬:‭44‬)
