Joy In Suffering?

It’s mysterious to think we could even begin to find any hint of joy in deep anguish and unexplainable circumstances. Isn’t it? Where are you in life? Or where have you been? Life is filled with chapters that can cause us to lose hope, even bow out completely. My steps have walked into suffering this past year, but the Lord has produced peace that makes no sense. It’s His promise that we can go from strength to strength as we fall completely on Him.

Since the foundations were laid, our days were known to the Almighty. In the questionable chapters, what if it’s His way of pulling us in? To show us He’s trustworthy. To exhaust us of our own strength and find He’s our only real source.

When you don’t have answers to your problems. When the unknowns come crashing in, fall hard. Fall hard on Jesus. Wrestle with Him until He grips you and tells you everything is going to be okay.

I don’t like suffering any more than you do, but the joy of finding Jesus in the center of it all with a persistent call of love yields a hope and joy that no other way can afford.

He loves you in your suffering. He will never abandon you.

“Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.” (Psalm 84:5-7)
