“A man with leprosy came to Jesus begging on his knees, “IF you’re willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus indignantly reached out and touched him, “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.” (Mark 1:40-42)
The man “begged.” Yet, I hear the voice of Jesus begging us instead. To trust Him and stop saying “IF.” He IS willing. Yet, the guarantee is not physical, but spiritual. Jesus asks, “What’s easier, to say “You are healed,” or to forgive your sins?”(Matthew 9:5)
It cost Jesus His very life to heal our souls. His greatest healing. We are unclean. He takes our sins and stains that are crimson red and washes us white as snow by His blood sufficient. (Isaiah 1:18) For only through the shedding of blood is there remission of sin. (Hebrews 9:22) At Calvary it was accomplished. His reach, steeped in pure love.
Do you hear His voice of truth?
No ifs. He is willing and able. No ifs. Jesus begs us to believe.
“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
(To be washed white and sealed for heaven.) (John 1:12)
