Fall For Him

“You have forsaken your first love. Consider how far you have fallen, repent and do the things you did at first.” (Revelation 2:5)

This is a call to consider how far we’ve fallen, but I see it as a call to fall more in love with Jesus. Oh, I have fallen so far. You too, right? That He continually reaches for me when I fall down and picks me back up again. Is this not real love? This is dedication. Jesus is dedicated to us. He’s the love we long for and His heart calls out to us. Like a “newfound love,” Jesus desires the spark to stay lit and our passion to stay fixed on Him.

There’s a call here to repent. I’m taken that in Greek this means “to take hold of a new mind.” I need this. You too? Our minds need to be fixed on His permanent unfailing love. Our forever love never turns away from us.

May we turn toward Him and fall for Him more and more every day.

Lord, fan into flame our love for You as we take hold of our minds, cling to You and fall into Your trustworthy arms. Then send us out into the world to love as You have loved us. Amen & Alleluia.
