Wholly lean into the love of Christ.
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
These lyrics from the hymn, “On Christ the Solid Rock” are filled with the call to place our trust in Christ alone. I could break down every refrain. Yet today, I’m thinking on “frames,” the ones that sit on our bookshelves. Think of the life captured in the frames scattered around our houses. They hold the sweetest moments, don’t they? We all display them. Placed in priority, capturing the best of the best. What thankfulness we have for the good times, and we should, but we all know that it’s not always the “sweetest frames” in life.
Take a picture of this and keep it close by.
God is with us in ALL the frames of life, the ones we display and the ones we might hide.
IMMANUEL IN ALL. Perfect love. Wholly lean into the love that will catch you and keep you. At every turn, through all the highs and lows.
We dare NOT trust that the Lord is only good in the sweetest of frames. Instead, we must wholly lean on Jesus’ name and build our lives on His sufficient grace and mercy. Be captured by His perfect love. Immanuel, “God with us.”
“The Lord is my solid rock, my fortress and my rescuer. My God is my rock. I take refuge in Him! He’s my shield, my salvation’s strength, my place of safety.” (Psalm 18:2)
May His love overwhelm you and may know how much you are loved whatever part of the journey you find yourself on. Be held.
Amen & Alleluia.
