Jesus came wrapped in grace, truth and mercy.
The announcement came through John who admitted He was nothing, just the messenger. He declared, “I’m not worthy enough to even stoop down in front of Him and untie His sandals.”(Luke 3:16) When He saw Him, He said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)
We were nothing in need of everything. Destitute, entangled in sin and pain, searching for peace and rescue. Jesus came to extinguish the darkness and extend His everlasting light to our souls. Heaps of grace He brought with truth and tender mercy, all wrapped up in one. HE IS THE ONE! The One worthy of all Praise. The gift every heart needs and was made for.
How does this hit you? In our unworthiness, the One worthy of all praise stooped low. He humbled Himself to join us to His heart and to heaven.
