Chaos Calmed

I love to listen to the wind speak. It reminds me of The Holy Spirit, described like the wind. “We don’t know where it comes from or where it’s going.” (John 3:8) The wind whipped at the shore, the waves motioned the intensity, mounted one on top of the other, high and uncontrollable. It was then I heard the Spirit speak. “I can be trusted in the chaos in the world and in your life.”

I turned my face into the wind. The hair that covered my eyes blew away from my face and opened my view. It was then I felt it. I felt the deep sting against my legs as the strong winds whipped up the sand. The Voice of Truth broke into the moment reminding me that “death has lost its sting,” that my greatest chaos has already been settled. The way to eternity is open and secure. A tear hit my cheek and the wind dried it.

We all notice the world’s chaos, it’s intensity. What about in your personal life? Does this settle your soul? Will you turn your face into the wind? Let the Lord open your view and hear this word of comfort. He has so much to say. He loves you and me.

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (It’s been swallowed up, it’s been settled, and one day He will dry every tear.) Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55, 57)
