Send Me

“Here I am, send me.” These words came off the lips of Isaiah, but it was after a burning coal touched his lips and he realized his need for a rescue. It’s an intense scene. (Isaiah 6:5-8) He flat out couldn’t dismiss his faltering lips and life when he was found in the presence of the Lord’s holiness. “Woe!” was all he could say. The mercy of the Almighty flew from the altar and a burning coal hit his lips, atoning for his sin. His response was worship and awe with urgency to get up and go.

I’m like Isaiah, are you? I’m a girl of unclean lips. Sometimes it’s on my lips and unspoken, other times I let it roll and I think, “oops.” If not unclean lips, it’s my unclean record. Bringing it all to Jesus and finding His extravagant rescue makes you passionate to “Go where He sends you.”

Do we realize that it’s our brokenness that qualifies us to receive and spread the love of Christ? Are you being called to come, called to go, but hesitant to “go there”? Have you crashed up against His holiness, His saving grace and mercy?

DO YOU HEAR HIM CALLING?
Come as you are, say, “Here I am.” Receive His rescue. It’s the greatest love story ever told. God sent Jesus to reconcile the broken, that’s us!! Run to Jesus, be mended by mercy and go where He sends you. He promises to equip the call!

Surely He is for the broken and sends the broken. Surely He is with us. Surely He calls out to us to receive His love and spread His love far and wide.

The seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. He touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:6-8)

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-24)
