The Fire Of His Word

Posted on

I really can’t get over the power of God’s Word available to us. It’s really not meant to sit on a shelf, but to come and burn away everything that doesn’t belong. I am really craving this, are you?

I love Jesus’ name as Refiner. Do you know Him by this name? To refine is to purify, to sift. In describing the actual refining of silver, the heat is turned way up, bringing all the “dross” (all the impurities) to the surface. The refiner then scrapes away the dross. He knows it’s all cleared away once he sees his reflection looking back at him.

Take in this picture. See Jesus. Jesus desires to sit as the Refiner in our lives. A constant scraping away of the old thoughts and an inputting of what’s true, His every Word. A constant and ongoing process, until our lives begin to reflect Him more and our thoughts begin to be more His thoughts than ours. The result? More life. Abundant life.

What if we asked Him to sit as the Refiner of our hearts and minds? (Malachi 3:3) I want to say “finally” don’t you? (Philippians 4:8) A little more every day. The fire of His holy Word can do this. Been thinking about it on the podcast.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬)

WHAT ABOUT YOU?
You get trapped in wrong thinking like me, right? Praise God, He’s passionate to align our thoughts and hearts to what’s true. How will you begin to give Him your thoughts that don’t belong and trade them in for His? It’s the best trade.

Refining, a process til our last breath. A process that brings the freedom Christ died to give us.

Praise You Jesus for your passion to save us in the center of our thoughts by the power of Your Word and Your presence. You are so good to us. Hosanna in the highest. Amen & Alleluia.

“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify us and refine us like gold and silver.
‭‭(Malachi‬ ‭3:3‬)‭
