Don’t Lose Heart

Posted on

Don’t lose heart, we are living in temporary temples. Take heart! “Though outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly we “can be” renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16) I sometimes lose heart though. My skin sagging, my squint lines enhancing and my knees creaking. I’m feeling older all the time. I can’t deny that outwardly I am declining. We all are. ~

We will lose heart if we focus on our reflection, we will gain hope if we reflect on the bigger picture.

Described as tents, our bodies are just our temporary home. We are passing through to our final destination. Along the way, we breathe in moments and views that display the Hand behind it all. Day by day this same Hand wants to renew us deep down.

It begs the question, are we being inwardly renewed day by day? Setting our minds on things above while here below, we will not grow weary and lose heart. How will we intentionally shift our view today? To look up instead of all around and inward instead of outward?

Lord, Your heart is for our hearts to settle more into Yours.
Deep down we need You so much and deep down You desire to renew us ongoing.
Amen & Alleluia.
