Rocked by Love

Posted on

I looked out over the sunset and rocked back and forth at a steady pace. As I did, the steadfast love of the Lord rocked my soul and spoke into the moment. I was overtaken with peace. It was more than a whisper. It was like a rushing water with emphasis on His character. I heard Him say, “I never change.” I whispered back. “I believe.” All the uncertainties that still hovered in the day to day seemed to hush as I was held by the One who is coming to make all things new. (Revelation 21:5)

Do you crave the steadfast love of the Lord? Have you heard His whisper lately? Of all the whispers, let this one rock your soul. “I never change.” (Hebrews 13:8) He doesn’t change His mind about us or His plans for the future. His love is everlasting. His promises are trustworthy. Be rocked.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. (always ready to rock us and remind us of His steadfast love) So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. (when the world whips around in chaos and uncertainty) Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! (the voice of the Savior roars like rushing waters drawing closer day by day (Revelation 14:2-3) A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. (freely flowing in all circumstances) God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. (among us and in us, He will never leave us or forsake us) From the very break of day, God will protect it. (from sunrise to sunset He remains faithful and always will) The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! (God’s kingdom is coming and will never end) God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. (Our Refuge commands His angels concerning us (Psalm 91:11) Our Fortress melts fear and establishes trust with anticipation)
PSALM 46

Whisper back, “I believe.”
Be rocked in the loving arms of the Eternal Rock, the Coming King! Anticipate.
Amen & Allelluia.

“I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne.”
(Revelation 14:2-5)
