Rumors about God. That He isn’t helping. That He has forgotten us. This is a rumor that needs to stop. In all the unsettled-ness in the world I’ve heard some doubting the faithfulness of God. What about you? We need to remind each other of the truth.
In Matthew 24:6 Jesus told us that “birth pains” would get worse, that troubles would come. Jesus assures us that He has overcome the world. (John 16:33) He didn’t leave out the details that we are living in. He told us this part of the story. He clearly told us, troubles would increase in this world before He returns. This is the truth. If we are hearing that God isn’t good and He’s absent, that’s a rumor. He only tells the truth, it’s impossible for Him to lie. (Hebrews 6:18)
Don’t let love grow cold in your heart. Don’t fall prey to rumors. Instead let all this chaos move you toward God.
Now is the time for love to increase. Hot, not warm or cold. Hot.
For our hearts to melt and move toward the truth, not question it. To move toward Jesus.
What if hard times are designed to lead us to the Good News, to our ONLY HOPE? Jesus.
The future headlines read, “Jesus returned, wiped every tear and established His kingdom and brought His beloved into His eternal care.” May our hearts melt for the One WHO WAS, AND IS AND IS TO COME. May we not run away from Him but toward Him. (Rev 1:8, 21:4) May we receive His extravagant offer and be marked and sealed as His beloved. (Ephesians 1:13)
“For as lighting that comes from the east is visible in the west, so too, every eye will see Jesus return. Every tribe, tongue and nation will see Him.” (Matthew 24:27) This isn’t a rumor.
Do not let your hearts be troubled, do not give into false rumors. instead let your heart be overcome with the truth and see. Ask all the hard questions, see that Jesus truly is who He says. “Come and see” now, not then. Now is the time.
Lord, darkness and chaos hover, yet You holy hover and Your Light never goes out.
May we not be afraid to come to the Light, to come to You. Solidify Your love to us.
Illumine the darkness. Deliver us and keep us. Oh how we need You.
Melt our hearts Lord, Melt our hearts. Hold us close and set us free from rumors.
Leave us standing firm in Your eternal truth, upheld by You.
Amen.
